CHARLES
R. THAV

Charles R. Thav received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Wayne State University in 1967. Mr.
Thav graduated from the Wayne State University Law School, Cum Laude, in 1970.
Mr. Thav is the founding member of the Firm. He was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1970. He is also a
member of the State Bar of Florida, being admitted to practice in that state in 1971. Mr. Thav is a Certified Public
Accountant and member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. He was formally a senior instructor
with the Person Wolinsky C.P.A. Review Program.
Mr. Thav has a strong business and tax background and regularly advises clients in business organization and tax
matters. His expertise is in representing clients with disputes before the Internal Revenue Service and other government
agencies. His practice also includes investment and retirement planning for businesses. He has also published several
articles in the area of taxation.

BARRY
A. STEINWAY

Barry A. Steinway graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in the Multi-Disciplinary Social Science
program at Michigan State University in 1971. He received his Juris Doctor Law degree from the University of Detroit
School of Law in 1974, where he was a member of the University of Detroit Journal of Urban Law Review.
Mr. Steinway is a member of the State Bar of Michigan having been admitted in 1974. He also has served as an arbitrator
with the American Arbitration Association and in private arbitrations.
Mr. Steinway specializes in real estate law and corporate transactions. He represents numerous property management
companies in both lease negotiations, tenant matters, property development, acquisitions, and sales. Mr. Steinway
advises and litigates in areas involving commercial contracts, business acquisitions and transfers, negotiable
instruments law, Federal and State employment discrimination and civil rights, real estate, bankruptcy, and commercial
related matters. Mr. Steinway has served as an expert witness in regard to attorney professionalism and conduct
in corporate transactions.

E. EINSTANDIG

David Einstandig graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University in 1989. He received his
Juris Doctor Law degree, Cum Laude, from the University of Detroit School of Law in 1992.
Mr. Einstandig was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1992. He is also a member of the Tax & Business
Law, Consumer Law Section of the Michigan State Bar and Lawyer’s Association. In addition, Mr. Einstandig is a
member of the United States Tax Court, United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, U.S. District Court
for the Western and Eastern Districts of Michigan and the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Einstandig is a former judicial clerk to the Honorable Susan M. Borman and has been a member of the firm since
1992. Mr. Einstandig specializes in business law and concentrates his practice on commercial litigation, corporate

J. SMALL

Brian J. Small graduated from the University of Michigan in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
He obtained his Juris Doctor Law degree from the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law in 1992.
Mr. Small was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1992. He is a Board member of the Consumer Bankruptcy Association,
and has served as Chairman of the Debtor Education Committee and is an instructor at Consumer Bankruptcy Association
Seminars. He is also a member of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the U.S. District Court
for the Eastern District of Michigan, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and
Western District of Michigan.
Mr. Small practices in various areas including specialization in corporate and consumer bankruptcy, financial counseling,
debt management, non-bankruptcy workouts and corporate dissolution.
He is a member of the American Bankrutpcy Institute.

GLICK EMAIL

Eric S. Glick received his undergraduate accounting degree in 1993 from Wayne State University and his law degree,
magna cum laude in 1997 from the Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University where he served as an associate
member of the Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University Law Review.
Mr. Glick was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1997 and to the United States District Court - Eastern District
of Michigan, the United States Court of Appeals - Sixth Circuit, and the United States Tax Court in 1998.
Mr. Glick is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Oakland County Bar Association, the B'nai B'rith Barrister's
Bar Association, and the Cardozo Law Society. Since 1997, Mr. Glick has coordinated, along with the State Bar of
Michigan, the United States Court of Appeals - Sixth Circuit Ceremony for new admittees which is held in conjunction
with the State Bar of Michigan's Annual Convention. Mr. Glick heads up the firms Estate Planning Department and
is also a frequent guest on "Your Money" with Ken Stern on WJR 760AM.
Mr. Glick's fields of practice include civil and commercial litigation; mergers and acquisitions; general corporate,
limited liability company, and partnership law; construction law; estate planning, asset protection, probate, and
elder law; consumer protection and landlord-tenant law; and administrative law.

MICHAEL
FREEMAN
Michael Freeman, Of Counsel
to the Firm, received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Michigan University in 1967. Mr. Freeman received
his Juris Doctor Degree from the Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University in 1972.
Mr. Freeman became involved in medical-legal claims as a law student and claims representative for the United States
Fidelity and Guaranty Company. Since his graduation from law school and admission to the bar in 1972, Mr. Freeman’s
law practice has been devoted to the defense of personal injury lawsuits involving allegations of serious personal
injury and wrongful death. His primary focus has been on the defense of product liability and medical malpractice
litigation, along with suits arising out of construction site accidents.
Over the years Mr. Freeman’s defense practice evolved into employment law, insurance contract disputes, insurance
agency errors and omissions litigation and general business litigation. In 1978, Mr. Freeman was retained as counsel
by a number of suppliers and manufacturers of asbestos insulation products to represent them in what was the first
of thousand of asbestos exposure law suits filed in Michigan. Asbestos defense continues to be a major part of
Mr. Freeman’s practice.
Mr. Freeman also serves as an arbitrator and mediator of personal injury matters. He is an adjunct professor at
Northwood University.

Garik Osipyant graduated from the University of
Michigan-Dearborn in 2002 with a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Political Science. Mr.
Osipyants received his Juris Doctor Law Degree

Clinic.
Mr. Osipyants was admitted to the State Bar of
Michigan in 2006. Mr. Osipyants is also a

the Oakland County Bar Association.
Mr. Osipyants practices consumer bankruptcy law,

L. GROSS EMAIL

Kenneth L. Gross graduated with high distinction from Wayne State University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science
and a Bachelor of Arts in accounting. He received his Juris Doctor Law degree also from Wayne State University,
graduating Cum Laude in 1982.
Mr. Gross was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1982. He is also a member of the Sixth Circuit Court of
Appeals, former Chairperson of the Admissions, Young Lawyers Section of the State Bar of Michigan, and the American
Health Lawyers Association.
Mr. Gross serves as the managing shareholder of the firm. He has an accounting and tax background and practices
in the areas of health law, corporate and estate planning, as well as commercial litigation. He advises clients
on complex commercial contracts, franchising, copyright infringement, health, life and disability insurance claims,
negotiable instruments law, financing, real estate, asset protection, bankruptcy and creditor work outs. He has
published on the subject of real estate financing.

David J. Bennett graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1968. He also received
his Juris Doctor Law degree from Wayne State University in 1971.
Mr. Bennett was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1971 and the State Bar of Florida in 1972. He is also
a member of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the United States District Court for the
Western District of Michigan, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He has
served as an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association.
Mr. Bennett specializes in the practice of real estate and commercial litigation. He represents numerous financial
institutions and developers in foreclosure proceedings and related bankruptcy matters, commercial and real estate
litigation, acquisition of apartment buildings, shopping centers, landlord-tenant matters and related real estate.
He has further served on committees of the State Bar Association for drafting of civil jury instructions and been
a lecturer with respect to real estate law matters.

David L. Steinberg graduated from the University of Michigan in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History
and Communications. He earned his law degree from the University of Detroit School of Law in 1980 and served as
Article and Book Review Editor on the University of Detroit Journal of Urban Law Review. In 1982, he obtained his
Masters degree in International Trade Regulation from the Georgetown University Law School.
Mr. Steinberg was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1980 and the State Bar of California in 1987.
During the past 20 years, Mr. Steinberg has developed a substantial business law practice that focuses on general
corporate, real estate, mergers and acquisitions, licensing and distributorships. He is recognized as an expert
in the fields of franchise law and multi-level marketing.
Mr. Steinberg has written numerous law review and trade journal articles concerning franchising and the application
of the anti-trust laws to professional sports. He is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA) Anti-Trust
Section, as well as the ABA subcommittee on Franchising and Forum Committee on Franchising. He frequently serves
as an arbitrator with respect to resolving commercial and business disputes before the American Arbitration Association
(AAA). He is also a member of the Government Relations and Legal Counsel Committees of the Direct Sales Association
in Washington, D.C. Since 1995 Mr. Steinberg has been a television talk show host for numerous business programs
on the Comcast Cable System in Metropolitan Detroit.

FRIEDMAN

Mort Friedman graduated from Wayne State
University in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Accounting.
Mr. Friedman was admitted to the Bar of
Michigan in 1964. He is a former Field Service
Agent of the Internal Revenue Services, as well
as an instructor at the Detroit Business
Institute.
Mr. Friedman concentrates his practice in

Jenny Stiles graduated from Michigan State
University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Marketing. Ms. Stiles received her

Corporate Law and Taxation Law, and she served
